Following on from a record number of poster entries in 2024, BABICM are delighted to launch the 2025 poster presentation competition. Entries are to be displayed and judged during the annual 2 day event on 17th and 18th June 2025 and as well as printed copies for display.  For the first time, all entries will be available to view on the BABICM website prior to the conference!

BABICM has collaborated with Headway to produce a new factsheet on case management following a brain injury.

BABICM are delighted to announce the appointment of Jane Hammond-Hawkins to lead our new Educational Scoping Project (ESP). The six-month ESP aims to explore how BABICM members wish to develop and deliver formal routes of education within brain and complex injury case management.

Following up from the BABICM Webinar 'Insurance for Case Managers: Have You Got It Covered?, this article delves further into the insurance requirements case managers should be looking for and clarifies some of the tricky terminology used in policies.

On the 6th & 7th June 2023 BABICM presented their annual conference entitled ‘Steering Steady in a World of Complexity” at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Coventry. This year, for the first time, there was an award of £500 to the best poster, and an opportunity to write an article or present their work next year at Conference.

Case managers are familiar with the challenges that come with working with people who have suffered an acquired brain injury and the impact it has on them and their families. Yet there continues to be a lack of awareness of brain injury outside the industry. MP Chris Bryant, who was knighted in the New Year’s Honours list, has been instrumental in bringing ABI into focus, and his work has pushed the government into creating a strategy for ABI. With the details of the strategy due to be published in June, it makes this year’s Action for Brain Injury Week even more important.
