Just a few seconds of your time will help to put Acquired Brain Injury on the research map!

The recent James Lind Alliance ‘Adult Social Work Priority Setting Partnership’ survey looked at what the priorities should be for social work research.

We are pleased to announce that acquired brain injury (ABI) has made the long-list of priorities, for the first time, which is good news for BABICM members and our clients.

There is now a national vote to filter the long-list to a short one so we would like to urge BABICM members and our wider community of professionals working with individuals with a brain injury, to vote for ABI to make the short-list.

PLEASE NOTE: The survey closes on the 1 July 2018.

The link to the very brief survey is here: surveymonkey.co.uk/r/AdultSocialWork

We encourage BABICM members and relevant professionals to tick the response that states:

“What are the most effective ways for adult social workers to work with people with an ABI? What knowledge and skills do adult social workers need to work with this group?”

If enough of us do this, we may find that people with an ABI and their families finally get their voices heard in the field of social work/social care research – the importance of which cannot be under-estimated.

Please share the link and encourage anyone and everyone affected by the condition or who works in the field to promote this.
