Vic qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2002 from the University of Derby, initially commencing her career in both hospital and community settings with a special interest in neuro rehabilitation before joining Anglia Case management in 2009. Vic has progressed, to become a Clinical Team Lead for Children and Young People, and now sits on the Senior Management Team. This role encompasses her passion for staff development, as it includes the supervising and training of Case Managers, and the management of ACM’s Assistant Case Managers.
Vic has a small, complex case load of children and young people with brain injuries, cerebral palsy and other complex disabilities. Her previous experience in neuro rehabilitation, in hospital and community settings has given her an excellent understanding of the challenges and complexities faced by clients and their families after sustaining a brain injury. She uses her therapy background to support young people with the transition from the parental home to adult living where she works in conjunction with other professionals to enable her clients to meet their rehabilitation goals and housing adaptations. Vic has experience of managing the challenges which arise in a child’s education, including the co-ordination of services in relation to Educational Health Care Plans and sourcing of an appropriate school to ensure a child’s needs are met.
Vic also undertakes occupational therapy expert work.
Vic is an advanced member of BABICM and has been an active member of Professional Practice and Membership group since 2016, within her role on PPMG Vic completes the advanced membership reviews.
Janice is a Chartered Physiotherapist graduating from Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh in 1995. Her early career was spent in the Scottish Highlands where she is from, moving to Cumbria in 2001. Janice’s background is predominantly Paediatric Neurodevelopment working for 20 years in Community Paediatrics in the Penrith and Carlisle Area.
Janice joined A Chance for Life Ltd in 2018 as Case Manager/Specialist Physiotherapist and took on the role of Senior Case Manager, line managing a small number of case managers in the Lancashire and Merseyside area, in 2020.
Janice holds a caseload of both adults and children with brain and complex injuries and has recently become more involved with service developments within A Chance for Life Ltd. Janice is committed to supporting the development of Case Managers within her team, encouraging them to pursue opportunities to further their skills.
Janice gained her Advanced BABICM Membership in January 2022. She is also a member of the MLACP (Medicolegal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) and ATACP (Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) and looking to progress further into Expert work.
Janine qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1990 and has worked predominantly in the field of Brain Injury since that time. She joined Head First Case Management Services in 1997 as a Brain Injury Case Manager. Over time, her role developed to include to clinical supervision for all staff, developing training programmes for case managers, support workers and other professionals. She is now the Clinical Manager at Head First.
Janine is interested in empowering clinicians, enabling and shaping best practice, ensuring people with brain injuries and their families receive the best possible service and outcomes.
Janine has been an active member of BABICM since 2011, initially on the Education subgroup, and since 2013 as part of the joint working group with CMSUK and VRA, developing a framework for case management practice standards, and working towards accrediting case management as a profession. Janine joined BABICM Council in 2017 and sits on the Professional Practice & Membership Group in addition to representing BABICM on the joint working group.
Anita qualified as an occupational therapist in 1997 at Leicester University. Anita has specialised in the field of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) since 2000 and began working as a case manager with Westcountry Case Management in 2004.
Anita took on the role of clinical support manager at Westcountry Case Management in June 2015. She undertakes a variety of activities to support case managers in their clinical practice.
Anita is an advanced member of the British Association of Case Managers and has previously been part of the BABICM training and events group. Anita is passionate about brain injury and other complex disabilities, and the impact they have on people’s lives. She carries a small caseload, which is work she thoroughly enjoys.
Nicola qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2010 at the University of Cumbria. She has specialised in the field of Acquired Brain Injury since qualifying and began working as a Case Manager and Occupational therapist for A Chance for Life Ltd in 2012.
Nicola holds a mixed case load of adults and children with brain injury complex needs. She works with rehabilitative approach, working as part of an individualised multi-disciplinary team to ensure the clients needs are met and best outcomes achieved. Nicola is passionate about working with a client centred approach and finding solutions to achieve client goals and improving their quality of life. She has experience in establishing complex care packages in the community including Support Worker recruitment, supervision, training and development.
In 2018 Nicola progressed to the role of Senior Case Manager at A Chance for Life Ltd. In this role she provides leadership, clinical supervision and development to case managers. In this role Nicola has also developed training packages and deliver training to other clinicians and support workers
Nicola gained her BABICM Advanced membership in 2019.
Heidi is director of StanleySmith Case Management Ltd. She has worked as a case manager for 11 years and gained her advanced member of BABICM in 2015. She joined the BABICM Professional Practice and Membership group in 2018.
Heidi qualified as an occupational therapist in 2000 and gained extensive experience in social care, NHS and education settings, working with children and young people with neurological injury. Since 2009 Heidi has worked as a case manager and independent occupational therapist. In her occupational therapy role, she works as a care expert with Jacqueline Webb and Co.
Heidi is rehabilitation focused. In her case management role, she sets up and co-ordinates the child/young person’s rehabilitation so that her clients are able to maximise their potential. Heidi is keen to ‘think outside the box’ and she uses her passion and drive to motivate the client, family and other professionals and services supporting the client. Central to this is collaborative working and pushing through barriers to ensure that her clients have a tailored approach so that their participation in all daily activities can be promoted as much as possible. Heidi is experienced in setting up and managing both employed and agency care packages. Education, social inclusion and play/ recreation are key occupations in childhood and Heidi works tirelessly to ensure her clients are able to participate in these activities and move forward in their development and transition to adulthood.
Heidi has excellent assessment and report writing skills which she uses both within her case management and care expert role. Heidi mentors other paediatric case managers and carries out quality assurance with paediatric experts at Jacqueline Webb.
Heidi is passionate about her work and has a sound knowledge base and experience in neurological injury with children and young people.
Anna is a Chartered Psychologist, graduating with a BSc in Psychology in 1993. Anna has worked in neuropsychological rehabilitation since 1994 when she started work as an assistant psychologist working with clients with acquired brain injury. She worked with clients and their families in the community and also at an in-patient neuro-rehabilitation unit.
Anna has been a brain injury case manager since 1998. Anna works with clients with complex needs and has a particular interest in running community rehabilitation packages. Anna is National Clinical Co-ordinator for Tania Brown Ltd, providing supervision and development to case managers and is passionate about all case managers working from a client goal-directed perspective.
Anna was a core part of the working group leading the development of core competencies for BABICM produced in 2010 and part of the team who wrote the BABICM standards of professional practice.
Tim is a qualified occupational therapist with 10 years of experience in working in hospital inpatient and community settings. Initially starting his career in forensic mental health, he started working in brain injury case management in 2011 for Head First LLP. Tim has worked with a broad spectrum of people with cognitive difficulties, as well as severe physical impairments. He has experience of working with male and female clients, as well as paediatric case management. In 2018 Tim set up Activation Therapy and Case management.
Tim has extensive experience of assessment, treatment programme implementation and report writing for clients with complex conditions and presentations. Tim works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to provide client-centred treatment, and has experience of setting up, training, and managing community discharge packages.
Tim is an active member of BABICM’s Professional Practice and Membership Group (PPMG), and was involved in writing the Code of Conduct for case managers with (Case Management Services UK) CMSUK and (Vocational Rehabilitation Association) VRA.
In 2014 he gained experience in giving evidence at a trial in the High Court in London, and has since delivered training to other clinicians on court room technique.
