SPECS – Seeing Brain Injury Clearly with The Childrens Trust

BABICM are pleased to collaborate with The Childrens Trust to bring you this free* online event

SPECS being an acronym of the core psychosocial factors that are important to address in successful neurorehabilitation: Social, Physical, Emotional, Cognitive and Spiritual.

Psychosocial factors like these are major predictors of long-term outcomes and few training packages exist for professionals that specifically address the unique psychosocial needs of children and young people with acquired brain injury.

This short webinar will be delivered by Dr Gemma Costello, Head of Psychosocial Services with The Children’s Trust. This session will provide an insight into our SPECS approach which aims to increase the skills and confidence of professionals working directly with children and young people, and their families. SPECS supports the ultimate aim of increasing meaningful participation in life and giving professionals the opportunity to scaffold a sense of what the future may hold for families in the longer-term.

*Event is free to BABICM members. Non members will be charged £10.
