Delving into Tech: Capacity, Security, Independence and Gaming – Part 4

Technology assists those we work with so much but there are also potential risks that need to be considered. In this four part series, we will explore some of the issues around capacity and online safety, as well as providing information around accessing gaming and other tech options for our client group. This webinar series will run over 4 weeks

Week 1  – 18th Jan

Dr Kathy McKay – Tamarisk Psychology Services Ltd – “Exploring capacity issues around accessing social media and the internet”

The internet and social media provide wonderful opportunities for our clients to connect with other people and expand their worlds. However, there can also be significant risks associated with this, which are increased when people are vulnerable to exploitation or when they may lack capacity in this area. Dr Kathy McKay, Consultant Clinical Psychologist will help us think about some of the issues raised, in the first of the webinars,  Exploring Capacity Issues Around Accessing Social Media and the Internet. This will look at the dilemmas that arise, relevant case law around assessment, and subsequent processes that follow a person being found to lack capacity in this area.

Week 2 – 25th Jan
