Family Matters:
The many aspects of parenting and working with families will be explored. The crucial role of and relationships with the parents of injured children, the challenges for the injured parent, the position of the parent to an adult injured child and the adult child supporting their elderly injured parent. Each client is unique, each injury is individual and each family has its own patterns and characteristics. We will hear about lived experiences, therapeutic approaches and the frameworks that support work with children, parents and families.
On Day 2:
Ethical tightropes:
Those working with the reality of individual lives, lifestyle choices and decisions – wise and unwise – often find themselves navigating ethically challenging situations. Safeguarding concerns, vulnerabilities, duty of care and questions of capacity must be balanced with empowerment, human rights, legality and choice. Sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll feature not infrequently and will be explored through our speakers across the day.

The BABICM Annual Conference is the ‘must-attend’ event of the year for brain injury professionals, from case managers and deputies to OTs and other health workers plus over 50 exhibitors.

Please state it for the Novotel Coventry and quote 55604676 in order to gain access to the special rate (£165 incl breakfast per night). Guests will need to secure their reservations with a credit card and will have up to 12 o’clock noon on the day of arrival to cancel their rooms free of charge, any cancellation after this time, will be charged to the card given at the time of booking.
