New BABICM Education Planning Project

BABICM is launching a 6 month project to identify and advance its work in the field of case manager education.

BABICM is the leading provider of education specific to case managers working with complexity and brain injury, with an established annual programme of valuable educational and CPD events.

The context for this project are the increasing educational needs of case managers alongside requirements to develop and demonstrate competency within scope of practice for registration with the Institute of Registered Case Managers (IRCM).

It is envisaged that the work is likely to include:

Auditing BABICMs current training & education provision
Assessing current and future needs for BABICM case managers development, education and training.
Collaboration with BABICM working groups
Gap Analysis
The production of a report with recommendations for future work

Role description

BABICM is looking to appoint an individual to lead this work in identifying and developing its educational offer to enable members to access case-manager specific education to meet the professional development needs of their work and demonstrate scope of practice and competency to clients, referrers and the registering body (IRCM).

The post-holder will report to the BABICM Directors.

Person Specification

The person needs to be able to demonstrate the following essentials:

Clear understanding of all BABICM practicing membership categories
5 years’ experience of CM work at complex level
Have a formal qualification in education; basic being Certification in education
Experience of working within higher education
Experience of module or course development and validation
Ongoing education/training delivery

The person needs to be able to demonstrate the following desirables:

Be a BABICM member
Advanced BABICM member or working towards
Experience of a range of CM companies
Master’s degree or higher – important if we develop CM complex pathway at advanced level being at masters
Module/course leadership experience
Experience of working within apprenticeship schemes or NVQ schemes
Be registered with HCPC, NMC or SWE as a clinical professional

Consultancy position with fixed term fee of £7800 (7.5 hours per week for 6 months)
