Advanced Membership Assessor

BABICM require an enthusiastic advanced member who is involved in case management practice, mentorship/supervision of other case managers and who is committed to ensuring high levels of competency in case management practice, to become one of our Advanced Membership Assessors.

This is an exciting opportunity to help ensure that members have a consistent and professional approach when being assessed for advanced membership. It can contribute to the successful applicant’s CPD requirements and supports BABICM in their work to ensure high standards of case management practice.

The Advanced Membership Assessor will receive £200.00 for carrying out each assessment in one day (maximum of 2) , approximately 9.30am – 4pm with additional time spent before / after the assessment to review related documentation and complete assessment forms. along with a volunteer reviewer. Reviews are all completed remotely online.

It would be expected that the successful applicant will complete up to 8 assessment days a year and will be available to complete the post for a 3-year term.

The applicant will receive induction and handover from a current Assessor.

Person Specification

Need to be a Registered Advanced Practitioner member of BABICM

Need to be in supervisory or managerial role within case management industry

To have comprehensive understanding of BABICM competencies for case managers and standards for case management practice

To identify any conflicts of interest which might arise

To be able to connect remotely with a good internet connection in a quiet environment

Job Description

To carry out regular advanced membership assessments. These are completed by zoom, approximately monthly, taking in the region of 8 hours per day.

To objectively appraise applicants’ level of practice in the 7 competency areas through the advanced membership process utilising all evidence available, documented and verbal.

To treat all evidence confidentially, in line with data protection legislation.

To treat all applicants fairly and with respect.

To write up necessary documentation from each advanced membership assessment and send to BABICM office within 7 days of advanced membership assessment.

To seek advice from PPMG regarding any issues arising from advanced membership assessment

To liaise with and explain the advanced membership assessment process to volunteer advanced membership assessors assisting on the day and ensure they have access to the guidance document.

To liaise with BABICM office regarding logistics for advanced membership assessments.

To report back to PPMG any themes arising from reviews undertaken

To be available to discuss appeals.
